Isaiah Livers was introduced to basketball at age 6, when he was playing in the yard while his father and older brother were going through layup drills in the driveway. “It was so natural” his Dad recounts “I remember in fourth or fifth grade when he came home and asked me why he was so much better than everyone at basketball, and I told him it was because he’d been playing for years.”

That talent paid off as Isaiah attended Kalamazoo Central High School where he won the Mr. Basketball of Michigan. He was part of the 2017–18 team that won the 2018 Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Tournament and reached the championship game of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.

However in March 2021 tragedy struck where Isaiah suffered a stress injury to his right foot in the 2021 Big Ten Tournament, which sidelined him indefinitely. As with any such career ending injury Isaiah’s mental strength and hard work that he developed from his Dad not “letting him come in the house until he hit ten left-hand in a row and right-hand in a row.” paid off and he was drafted to the Detroit Pistons in 2021.

His Dad still boasts an undefeated record against Isaiah, although he stopped playing him 1-on-1 when his son reached eighth grade and was too tall for his signature pump fake to work. His Mom also remains proud that "He always thinks about his teammates first. He always puts other people first."
